The Sun's String of Fury and More
by Michael G. Mickey
(9-11-05)
Luke 21:25: And there shall be signs in the sun, and
in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with
perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
There will be signs in the sun preceding the return of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? Yes - and they are here!
A Yahoo News article reports the following, in part:
An ongoing series of seven major solar flares, including two
on Saturday, could disrupt communications on Earth and generate colorful sky
shows for people at high northern latitudes for the next several days.
Even more serious effects are possible early in the week.
What may we see happen in the days ahead? "In coming days, if more major
flares erupt as forecasters expect, they'll head right at us and radio blackouts,
cell phone dropouts and other communications disruptions are more likely."
The article states there is a 75% chance we will see more X-class solar flares
each day through Tuesday, 9-13-05.
X-class solar flares are solar events of the highest possible classification,
noteworthy to say the least in light of Christ's prophecy, especially when
we compare their presence in the news of our world today with the rest of
Luke 21:25.
On the site's news page, I've recently documented a number of news stories
concerning outer space that contain words like 'baffled' and 'puzzled' to
describe the reaction scientists are expressing to various unexplainable things
they're seeing in the heavenlies, like Saturn's moon Enceladus having an unusual hot spot on one of its poles instead of its equatorial region,
as well as dramatic changes which have occurred in the rings
around Saturn in just the last 25 years.
And the distress of nations with perplexity spoken of in Luke 21:25? We definitely
have that! As I write this, it's the fourth anniversary of the September 11th
terror attacks on Washington and New York and the emotional wounds of many
Americans are still standing wide open. In spite of many efforts on the part
of President Bush, his war on terrorism has done little to prevent terrorists
from successfully carrying out attacks in Madrid, London, and even Iraq where
thousands of US forces are on the ground. While we can assuredly state the
global war on terrorism has disrupted Al Qaeda and other terror organizations,
likely preventing scores of attacks against western interests from taking
place, the international community as a whole hasn't earnestly joined the
United States in combating terror, choosing rather to sit on the sidelines
while calling for a peace those involved in radical Islam have absolutely
no desire of being part of.
The international community's approach to ending terrorism as manifested
often recently is one of appeasement rather than confrontation as we can see
in news story after news story. While the free world could meet its enemies
head-on collectively and win the war on terror, the consensus seems to be,
as I've documented on the site for a long, long time, what we need to do to
end terrorism is defuse the anger that's fueling radical Islam. How do we
do that? We do it, in part at least, by getting extremists associated with
it a little closer to a long-standing goal of theirs --- the destruction of
the nation of Israel. This the United States, sadly, has gone right along
with the international community in seeking, undoubtedly to the detriment
of our nation's safety for it is written, in Genesis 12:3, concerning the
children of Israel, Abraham's descendants, "And I will bless them that
bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families
of the earth be blessed."
Not only are the nations of earth in distress with perplexity as a result
of trying to figure out a way to combat an evil enemy that lurks among us
in shadow, the future does not bode well because the world does not take Genesis
12:3 seriously in the least. In spite of the obvious warning given us by God,
the international community, often being led by the United States as disgusting
as that is for me to admit, continues working toward its goal of creating
a Palestinian state on Israel's covenant lands.
Ironically, on the fourth anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Israel's
cabinet, undoubtedly as a result of the unyielding pressure being applied
to it from said international community, voted unanimously to dissolve the
military government that for 38 years ruled the formerly-Jewish inhabited
parts of the Gaza Strip, and approved the final withdrawal of Israeli Defense
Force soldiers from the area, according to a Jerusalem Newswire story.
The Jersualem Newswire story states the following, in part, on the topic:
In the biblical book of Joshua, the area now known as the Gaza Strip was
deeded to the Tribe of Judah. Following King David's conquest of the area
several centuries later, Gaza became a thriving center of Jewish culture,
and remained so for millennia.
In 1929, British Mandate forces evacuated the ancient Jewish community
of Gaza City after local Arab mobs attempted to massacre them. Already established
Jewish villages such as Kfar Darom were later lost during Egypt's invasion
of the newborn Israeli state in 1948.
After the 1967 Six Day War, Bible-believing Israelis joyfully returned
to Gaza, pouring their blood, sweat and tears into making the desert strip
bloom in obedience to God's command to settle the land.
From today, all the sacrifices and the lifes work of many will be
lost to Israel some believe for ever.
As the US continues to gather up its dead in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina,
a storm so destructive in magnitude an Associated Press article estimates it will cost the US more than two wars fought in Afghanistan and
Iraq have cost us, President Bush is continuing to lead the United States
into rebellion against the will of Almighty God, as revealed in a Jerusalem
Newswire article which states Bush is determined to see a Palestinian state created in Israel
by 2007, an excerpt from which follows:
If you're confused about where the Bush administration is heading
after Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, don't be, wrote Aaron Miller
in the International Herald Tribune on Friday. President George
W. Bush has developed a no-lose secret weapon that he hopes to deploy by
the end of his administration: a Palestinian state with provisional borders.
The bottom line? The nations are in distress with perplexity and are going
to remain so for the foreseeable future, most likely all the way to Armageddon.
Almighty God isn't going to bless any nation that ignores His promise of
blessing and curse by pressuring the nation of Israel into surrendering its
covenant lands and we can be certain of that! Why? Because it places Israel's
enemies in a strengthened position to bring harm to the children of Israel
and it is, of course, the equivalent of mankind collectively, in the form
of the international community, lifting itself above the Most High God! Not
only do we have those two bothersome issues to consider, those of us who understand
Bible prophecy realize the pressure currently being applied to the nation
of Israel is going to lead to the advent of the most evil world dictator the
world has ever known, the prophesied Antichrist whose confirmation of a seven-year
covenant of peace between Israel and its enemies will begin the Tribulation
Period leading to Armageddon and the visible, physical, bodily return of Christ
to the earth in flaming vengeance!
And then there's the roaring seas and waves predicted by Christ in Luke 21:25.
As I write this, Hurricane Ophelia is sitting nearly stationary off the coast
of the Carolinas but meteorologists are saying there is still a chance the
storm could take a sharp turn toward land and hammer the United States once
again. The latest report is Ophelia is threatening North Carolina and may hit there later this week,
news that has prompted the Governor of North Carolina, Mike Easley, to declare
a state of emergency already. Elsewhere around the globe, more than 800,000
people have been moved from their homes in eastern China as Typhoon Khanun
slams into its coast, according to a BBC report.
Is Jesus Christ coming soon or is all of this simply circumstance? If you,
in your examination of all that's going on in the world around us believe
the answer to this question is no, I am sincerely left to wonder why because
all I've shared here only deals with the issues presented in Luke 21:25 -
one verse of prophetic Scripture, of which there are many!
Is there evidence in the world around us sufficient for us to conclude we
are standing at the very door of the Rapture of the Church and the onset of
the Tribulation Period, especially when all the other end times prophecies
are examined alongside Luke 21:25? Yes! There is absolutely nothing in Scripture
to suggest those of us awaiting the Rapture of the Church will be required
to spend even one more day in this world that has forgotten its God! While
that doesn't mean we will be Raptured today, six months, a year, or ten years
from now, the reality is we are very close conditionally to that wondrous
event taking place!
A call to salvation through faith in Jesus
Christ
If you're reading this having never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and
Savior, you're in luck, unless, of course, a lot of Christians you know are
mysteriously unaccounted for and this phenomena is being reported globally.
Assuming the Rapture of the Church hasn't taken place as you read
this, there's still time for you to make a choice for Christ on THIS side of the Rapture, reserving for yourself a spot in what will be the greatest
event followers of Jesus Christ have witnessed since Christ burst forth out
of the grave after surrendering Himself to death on the cross on our behalf!
1st Thessalonians 4:16-17 describes the Rapture of the Church as follows:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall
we ever be with the Lord.
The American Heritage Dictionary® defines the word 'rapture' as follows:
1. The state of being transported by a lofty emotion; ecstasy.
2. An expression of ecstatic feeling. Often used in the plural.
3. The transporting of a person from one place to another, especially to
heaven.
I don't know about you, but everything about the word 'rapture' is indicative
of something I'd want to be part of! How about you? Will you come to faith
in Jesus Christ today and secure for yourself a brighter tomorrow - an eternity
of peace and happiness in the presence of the Lord? I certainly hope so.
