Maybe I'm not a conspiracy theorist after all
by Michael G. Mickey
(9-23-05)
Revelation 13:16-17: And he causeth all, both small and great,
rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand,
or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he
that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Could it be we're being led, ever so gently, toward acceptance
of an implantable microchip being placed inside our body - a device which
sounds eerily reminiscent of the prophesied mark of the beast which the
future government of the Antichrist will someday require all mankind to
receive, both in order to buy and sell, as well as a pledge of loyalty to
him? As I've stated in the past, we may well be!
It wasn't long ago that people like me were being labeled
as conspiracy theorists for thinking potential mark of the beast technologies
were (and presently are) under development which threaten our privacy in
unprecedented manners. In fact, I believe it's safe to say there was a time
when that was almost exclusively the opinion of us, but things may be beginning
to change. It seems many of those skeptical of what I and many, many others
have been warning could be coming are starting to have their own suspicions
stirred as well. Good for them! Welcome to reality even!
Canada Free Press, in an article entitled 'Big
Brother under the skin', states the following, in part:
It's 2005 and Big Brother is not watching you; he's under your skin.
A company is implanting Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags in corpses
in Mississippi to help identify the dead in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Principals of Florida-based VeriChip said RFID tags had already been implanted
into 100 corpses on behalf of the Mississippi State Department of Health.
(1993-2005 Red Herring Inc.).
Those who lost their lives to Katrina not only suffered in life when rescuers
didn't arrive, but suffer the loss of dignity as chipped corpses.
And the following, as well:
Using RFID to identify corpses is the latest trend in the expanding
field of RFID, which is expected to someday replace the kind of barcode technology
you see at your local supermarket. The growing RFID market, which commonly
tracks goods in a supply chain and streamlines factories, is estimated to
become a multibillion-dollar industry by 2010.
But corpses unlike commodities, call for dignity and respect.
Looks like the people who predicted it weren't "Internet conspiracy
theorists" after all.
Having established the possibility, from an outside source no less, that
those like me who believe we're being led toward a point in mankind's technological
and societal advancement that will make the prophesied mark of the beast's
acceptance possible aren't merely paranoid, let's look at a few stories from
the news of our world today supportive of my theory that we're being gently
deceived into thinking an implantable microchip or similar technology is needed in our daily lives, in light of recent disasters that have befallen mankind,
as well as long-standing medical issues of concern.
RedHerring.com is reporting a prominent San Francisco banker got 'chipped' on 9-19-05. Why?
Allegedly so authorities would have access to his living will in an emergency.
I suppose he wants to insure he doesn't become the next Terri Schiavo due
to medical officials being unable to access his medical records in a timely
fashion or a crisis situation. Either that or, perhaps, his firm is an advisor
to VeriChip, which the story points out.
Those who lost their pets in Hurricane Katrina may have hope they'll see
their pets again thanks to Digital Angel, a subsidiary of Applied Digital
Solutions which makes the VeriChip. Why? Because the company is donating
implantable microchips for pets and scanners to animal shelters along the
Gulf Coast to help in the extensive pet identification effort following the
disaster. To date, according to a Yahoo
Finance article, Digital Angel has provided 2,000 microchips and 28 scanners
to various animal shelters along the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and
Alabama. It's the implantable microchip to the rescue once again!
A CommsDesign.com
article indicates hospitals in Connecticut, Alabama and Pennsylvania are
using Randianse Inc.'s RFID products to improve equipment management and to
monitor patient and staff movement. I believe we can expect to see technologies
of this type utilized more and more often. At my place of employment, for
example, we now use an RFID card technology to insure only authorized personnel
gain access to the building. The card we're being required to carry has to
be scanned to allow employees entry into the building. Every time I use mine
to get in, around my Christian coworkers at least, I call it the "mark
of the beast" card. Recently, a friend of mine stuck his card to his
forehead and bent over to the scanner to have it scanned, which was only funny
to those of us who understood the tongue-in-cheek gesture on his part - a
reminder that we know where these technologies are eventually going to lead.
A Yahoo
Finance article details the following, which is currently underway as
I write this (emphasis added mine):
VeriChip Corporation, a subsidiary of Applied Digital (NASDAQ:ADSX - News)
and the world's premier RFID company for people, announced today its plans
to demonstrate the world's first FDA-cleared, human-implantable RFID microchip
and its VeriMed(TM) application at the American College of Emergency Physicians'
(ACEP) Scientific Assembly, taking place September 26-29, 2005 in Washington,
D.C. At this conference, attended by some 5,000 emergency physicians from
across the U.S. and around the world, the VeriMed patient identification
system will demonstrate how implantable RFID microchips can provide access
to rapid, accurate and secure patient identification, coupled with the patient's
own medical information, so crucial in emergency departments today.
While I'm not suggesting the implantable VeriChip or Randianse Inc.'s
RFID products are, in either case, the prophesied mark of the beast in their
present forms, the technology behind them may eventually become just that.
Why? Because the current and unprecedented effort underway to convince the
world that implantable microchip and RFID technologies are going to be extremely
beneficial to mankind, particularly in times of crisis, sets the stage for
the future government of the Antichrist to implement the mark of the beast
in the Tribulation Period to come - a time when disaster and crisis will be
commonplace.
Or am I sounding like a conspiracy theorist again?
