Is Jerusalem on the bargaining table?

by Michael G. Mickey

(10-2-05)

Israel National News is reporting the Palestinian Authority's network news recently indicated that Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom has said that Jerusalem is negotiable. Jersualem negotiable? If that is accurate (and I'm very skeptical that it is), I am amazed.

Of course, this could be just another example of how untrustworthy the Palestinian Authority is. The Israeli National News article states the following:

The PA often has reported news to its readers and listeners which is different from what it broadcasts to foreign media. Israel has charged that the PA continues to incite the Arab population.

Would the Palestinian Authority's network news currently report a blatant lie, planting a seed of anger intended to further incite its Arab population's anger in the future when Israel re-emphasizes what it has stated many times in the past, which is the Jewish nation is not willing to negotiate for the possession of Jerusalem? In my opinion, there is no doubt whatsoever!

Yahoo News is reporting Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas have agreed, apparently by telephone in a conversation held this date, to hold a summit soon. Undoubtedly, if so, it is a certainty the international community, via the Quartet of Russia, the United States, the United Nations, and the European Union, will be bending Sharon's ear in advance of it, reminding him that he is expected, at some point, to give the Palestinians precisely what they want - at least a partial ownership of Jerusalem, further setting the stage for a dramatic showdown between good and evil to take place at the battle of Armageddon, the end result of which is already assured.

Joel 3:14-17: Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

Jerusalem, you see, isn't on God's bargaining table.
