Nearing The End

by Michael G. Mickey

(10-18-05)

It's an almost weekly thing for me, but someone brought it up again to me, not knowing anything about RaptureAlert.com or even my personal beliefs. Someone told me, accurately, that we're nearing the end.

In the performance of my law enforcement duties this week, I met an older gentleman and had a nice discussion with him underneath a beautiful fall sky with barely a cloud in sight. It was one of those precious and rare moments when I actually got to enjoy a neighborly moment with someone I'd never met before. I wasn't hearing any bad news concerning him being victimized by someone as is typically the case, but was simply seeking a piece of information I hoped he had.

As people often do when talking with me (and probably police officers everywhere), the gentleman eventually brought up the nature of people, speaking to me primarily of their wickedness. As we talked briefly, he remarked that he can't figure out where people are coming from today, shaking his head in disbelief and obvious disgust. Almost immediately after stating that, he looked me dead in the eye and said something along the lines of the following, "I'm not a very religious man, but you know what I think? I think all these earthquakes and hurricanes going on around the world these days are trying to tell us something. Somebody's trying to get our attention!" Naturally, I agreed with his assessment of what was going on which brought a big smile to his face and mine as well. Within the few minutes we were together (less than five I'm certain), he and I found ourselves in perfect agreement that Jesus Christ is coming soon. As we started to part ways, I told him if it was true that he was not a very religious man, I couldn't think of a better time for him to become one than right now, advice I would - and do - share with anyone willing to give me an ear.

How can we doubt we're nearing the end as we look at what's going on around us, particularly when we look at the AMAZING accuracy of Bible prophecy as revealed through the news of our world today?

The roaring seas

Luke 21:25: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Reuters is reporting the "2005 Atlantic hurricane season tied a 72-year-old record for busiest ever with the formation of Tropical Storm Wilma."

With over a month to go in hurricane season, I think it's safe to say the former record is about to go bye bye. Someone, as the older gentleman I met this week told me, is trying to tell us something! Jesus Christ is coming soon!

Extreme temperature changes

Yahoo News is reporting "the continental United States will face more extreme temperatures during the next century and worse rainfall along its Gulf Coast which has been ravaged by hurricanes this year, according to a climate study released."

What will be behind the climatic change? If the article is accurate, greenhouse gases which will have doubled by century's end! Yes, DOUBLED!

The article quotes a Noah Diffenbaugh, whom I assume is a representative of the National Academy of Sciences which prepared the study, as saying, "Imagine the weather during the hottest two weeks of the year. The area could experience temperatures in that range lasting for periods of up to two months by century's end."

How can mankind overlook things like this, blindly thinking that things are going to continue as they always have when, clearly, they are not? The Bible predicts a day coming in the Tribulation Period when the sun will scorch mankind with heat! That day is coming!

Revelation 16:8-9: And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

I suppose, in light of Revelation 16:9, I shouldn't be surprised that the world doesn't bow at the feet of Christ in these days of spiritual darkness. Even when things get terrible beyond anything ever seen before, mankind is yet going to refuse to acknowledge its God! How sad!

The Gog-Magog confederacy continues to take shape

Bible prophecy tells us, in Ezekiel 38 & 39, a confederacy of nations is going to come against the nation of Israel in a massive attack in the latter days, at a time when Israel is perceived to be living in safety. As those who read my website regularly know, I am of the opinion this event is going to take place in the early Tribulation Period after the Antichrist, a leader from the European Union, has confirmed a seven-year peace covenant between Israel and her enemies. Who will be involved in this attack on the Jewish nation? Russia and many Arab nations, Turkey and Iran being among them.

Presently, as seen in an EUBusiness.com article, Czech Foreign Minister Cyril Svoboda is stating Turkey's ongoing negotiations to join the European Union will probably end with Turkey obtaining a kind of partnership rather than full membership, something I've documented on numerous occasions Turkey has said it will not accept. Suffice to say I expect, sooner or later, that Turkey, which has already been nuzzling up to its former enemy and future Gog-Magog ally, Russia, is going turn from its goal of EU membership to align with its Gog-Magog counterparts. As we see, the tensions that may lead to this are already taking shape.

And then there's Russia itself. Russia, according to The Australian, is being accused of helping its future Gog-Magog ally, Iran (Persia in Ezekiel 38), to develop missiles capable of hitting the capital cities of the European Union, the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy which the Antichrist will someday head, with nuclear weapons!

Russia, as almost everyone on planet earth knows, is helping Tehran with its nuclear program, as well as striving to prevent the international community from acting against Iran for doing so. The Russians, in spite of what The Australian's story implies Russia knows about Iran's intentions, have repeatedly declared that Iran has the right to seek "peaceful nuclear energy."

The Gog-Magog picture gets clearer with each passing day, doesn't it?

Syria give up its support of terror? Yeah, right!

The Australian is reporting "the Bush administration has offered Syria's beleaguered President a "Gaddafi deal" to end his regime's isolation if Damascus agrees to a long list of painful concessions."

Among the "painful concessions" Syria would be required to make are the following, as seen in the linked article above:

  1. Syria must first cooperate fully and adhere to any demands by the UN inquiry into former Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri's assassination in Lebanon which Damascus is highly suspected of being behind.
  2. If members of the Syrian regime are named as suspects they would have to be questioned and could stand trial under foreign jurisdiction.
  3. The Syrians would also have to stop any interference in Lebanon, where they have been blamed for a series of bomb attacks against their critics, most recently May Chidiac, a television presenter who was badly injured last month when a device exploded under her car.
  4. (Here's where it gets REALLY tough for Syria!) Washington wants Syria to stop recruiting, funding and training volunteers for the Iraqi insurgency, which Washington claims are openly operating in Syria with "the connivance of the regime." They include former members of the Iraqi regime and foreign volunteers. Washington also wants Syria to cease its support for militant Islamic terrorist organizations, Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad to name a few.
Isaiah 17:1: The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Syria give up its support of terror in order to make friendly with the United States, perceived by the entire radical Islamic terror world as the friend of Israel? Yeah, right! Don't hold your breath on that one! Isaiah 17:1, however? Hold onto that thought!

When Darwinists lose their faith

I don't know about any of you, but I find it very interesting how much play "intelligent design" is getting lately in terms of explaining our existence these days. Suddenly, scientists who, in the past, supported our children being taught evolution as truth in classrooms all over the world are beginning to, as a result of ever-increasing knowledge in the scientific world today, question the accuracy of Darwin's theory. Michael Behe is among them.

Behe, as seen in an Associated Press article, will be testifying this week in favor of a statement being read in Pennsylvania classrooms before students are taught Darwinian theory that would state Darwin's theory of evolution is not a fact. While one would think the word 'theory' would make a ruling in this case a no-brainer in favor of the statement being read to alleviate any confusion in the minds of children as to the absolute certainty that evolution has played a role in our existence, but it isn't. Not in the faithless world we live in today!

Critics will be arguing that Behe and those like him are simply trying to put creationism back into the classroom. Scientists, unknowingly aiding Satan in his goal of undermining Almighty God, have successfully gotten God out of the classroom and they don't want Him to find His way back, even though, in my opinion, the teaching of "intelligent design" still falls way short of acknowledging we were created by the one true Creator.

Theorists could argue, for example, that we were "seeded" here by an advanced race of alien beings who used science advanced beyond our wildest imaginations to "create" earth's delicate ecosystem, having hand-selected the planet for "seeding" due to its suitability to sustain life, etc.

Behe, the article states, is so ridiculed for rejecting evolution he has stopped applying for grants and trying to get his work published in mainstream scientific journals. Personally, I think Behe does an excellent job of refuting evolution as an explanation of our existence through the use of a simple mousetrap, as seen in the following excerpt from the linked article above:

Behe uses a mousetrap to illustrate the concept. Take away any of its parts — platform, spring, hammer, catch — and the mousetrap can't catch mice.

"Intelligent design becomes apparent when you see a system that has a number of parts and you see the parts are interacting to perform a function," he said.

I always use the human body to defend Creation. We all know we need circulatory, respiratory, nervous, and digestive systems to survive as human beings. Remove any one of those systems and we cease to exist. These systems are all interdependent! None of them would be able to exist on their own in a living being and to suggest that's true, as science tries to get us to believe may have taken place in the case of evolution, is 100% laughable.

When a cat gives birth to something that operates on a totally different series of biological processes than those mentioned above, I'll buy into evolution because that's precisely what would have to happen for evolution to be true. THINK ABOUT IT!

If evolution were true, one generation of creatures would have to instantly metamorphasize into a totally different type of creature to incorporate all these interdependent systems into a new, modified form of life. Behe's mousetrap, in all its simplicity, is quite accurate - the reason the scientific community at large rejects him. It's too simple to be true, you know, this notion that God CREATED us!

Why is this an end times issue? I believe its God will this "intelligent design" debate is taking place as we near the Tribulation Period that some will, in the aftermath of the Rapture of the Church, be compelled to at least consider the possibility they have been deceived by all this evolution hooey! Where there is doubt concerning the things of the world, there is hope concerning the things that are not of this world! Hopefully, some of those left behind will look away from their science books with its photos of man slowly evolving from primates into men and look to the REAL source of our existence - GOD our Father!

A seven- year peace?

Several people wrote me when the story broke, although I haven't commented on it until now. Could a seven-year peace plan be in the works in the Middle East?

Jerusalem Newswire is reporting that Yossi Beilin, the architect of the Oslo Accord whom JN calls an "Israeli ultra-leftist", is saying the US-backed Road Map to Middle East Peace has stagnated. The answer to resolving the issue of Middle East peace, not surprisingly, lies in his peace plan, the Geneva initiative.

According to the article, Beilin has stated, "At this point “the Road Map is just lip service for the American president, for [Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon, for [Palestinian leader] Abu Mazen, for the Europeans.”

As I've stated on numerous occasions in the past, Oslo, which Beilin worked on, had a seven-year timeline which was to see a Palestinian state born in the year 2000, seven years after it was signed in 1993. Given that Beilin is presently involved in the Geneva initiative and pushing for its use, could we see another seven-year timeline emerge, but with a different twist like, for example, a peacekeeping element involved from the European Union being deployed in the Middle East to insure everything goes smoothly? I wouldn't be surprised in the least! In fact, I believe this is what Bible prophecy seems to indicate will take place in Daniel 9:26-27 where we see a prince (or leader) of Roman descent (the prophesied Antichrist) will someday confirm (or strengthen) a seven-year covenant of peace between Israel and her enemies "with many."

Recently, as I've documented repeatedly, we have seen a lot of news stories suggesting that the European Union is going to have personnel on the ground in the Middle East, although the capacity they will be performing in is presently unknown. Essentially, in my opinion, the stage is being set for Daniel's prophecy to be fulfilled, although none of us know precisely how that may come to pass or when.

What we do know is this: Whatever the peace plan is that will ultimately be confirmed for seven years, it will be acceptable to all those concerned, to the extent the Antichrist will be praised as a hero among all people.

Given the European Union's subtlety in achieving its goals and its cleverness, I wouldn't be surprised to see a leader from the EU work hand-in-hand with someone like Yossi Beilin, borrowing principles from a peace plan of his which we know Israel once was confident enough to sign a formal acceptance of way back in 1993 - the Oslo Accord - promising to make it work by adding what wasn't there before to the mix - CONFIRMATION!

Is that something that's going to happen? I don't know, of course, but I feel reasonably confident that whatever ultimately brings about peace in the Middle East isn't going to be presented for the international press to clamor in praise of the Antichrist over while being preceded by the words 'US-backed' as the Quartet's roadmap peace plan so often is. Whatever peace plan comes to pass in fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy, I believe it's going to have EU and Antichrist written all over it, with the United States getting a nod as a helpmate at best, but who knows? I could be wrong on that. Time will tell.

Are we nearing the end? In light of all this, what do you think the answer to that question is?
