The Master of Disaster

Mickey (10-19-05) You know things are getting pretty bad in the world when even hellraisers like rock star Alice Cooper begin predicting the world is about to end, as seen in a Raider's News Update post, but, honestly, with all due respect to rocker Alice Cooper, how could anyone not think the earth is in a sin-induced tailspin that has it spiraling downward at ever-increasing speeds toward a showdown with the Master of Disaster, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Each and every day when I sit down to update this site, I am absolutely overwhelmed by what I see. A good example of this is Hurricane Wilma, which has grown from a tropical storm to a category 5 hurricane in one short day! Not only has it grown so quickly, it has become the most intense hurricane EVER seen in the Atlantic! Ever, as seen in a Fox News story! As I write this, Wilma's storm trajectory seems to indicate it is going to hit south Florida. May God be merciful, according to His will. Fox News is reporting the death toll from South Asia's deadly October 8, 2005 quake is now nearing 80,000. The news for those in that region who made it isn't good because the report quotes a seismologist as saying there will continue to be aftershocks which may last as long as a year from now. Yahoo News is reporting Pakistan is being presently shaken by some of these aftershocks. Speaking of earthquakes, eastern Japan, according to MSN News, was struck by a 6.5 earthquake today. Fortunately, it seems no lives were lost in that incident. Disaster presently looms over Taunton, Massachusetts which is currently threatened by a dam that threatens to break at any moment - the result of heavy rains which have struck the northeastern United States recently, as seen in a Fox News story. Antarctica is melting, adding to the inexorable rise in global sea levels, endangering millions of lives and whole economies, leading scientists said on Monday, according to a Yahoo News report. Perhaps, the cause of this is a hole in the ozone that is the third largest ever recorded over the Antarctic, as seen in a different report. Maybe all these disasters are just a coincidence rather than concrete signs that Jesus Christ is coming soon, right? There are good years and bad years for these sorts of things, right? Not if you believe the information I found buried within a Yahoo News report which suggests natural disasters are on the increase and have been FOR DECADES! Although there are, as one expects to be the case, points and counterpoints made in the report, the following excerpts are demonstrative, in my opinion, of how dramatically things have changed in recent years:
Examining the last sentence of the second bulleted excerpt, we see that in 1980 we'd see a hundred or so natural disasters per year, but that number has been TRIPLED each year since the year 2000! That's pretty strong evidence, in my opinion. Jesus said, as recorded in Luke 21:9-11, "But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. He added, as seen in Luke 21:25-26, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." While speaking of these disasters and frightful things to come, the Lord made it clear to those who would follow Him that He is the Master of Disaster - our blessed Redeemer and Savior! When these things BEGIN to take place, Jesus said in Luke 21:28, we are to calm our hearts and begin looking up for our redemption draweth nigh! Brothers and sisters in Christ, these are indeed frightening times we're living in. The world is fast becoming a very dangerous, volatile, and turbulent place, but we have not been left here with no hope! Jesus Christ our Lord is coming soon, as He promised us He would, so hold onto Jesus and the truth of His Holy Word with all your might! The Master of Disaster is alive, on His throne, and in control so FEAR NOT! Mar 4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, he [Jesus] saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.Mar 4:36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. Mar 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. Mar 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? Mar 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mar 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
