Is The Beast Sharpening Its Teeth?

The third paragraph of an ePolitix.com article reads as follows:

The Bush administration has been concerned that the EU's security and defence policy is emerging as a rival to NATO.

Finally, it has been said out loud! How could the Bush administration not be concerned by the ever-growing 25-nation Beast currently spreading across Europe? If the Bush administration would spend some time studying the prophecies of Daniel, it would be far more than concerned than it is now! It would be scared to death concerning the future ambitions of the European Union, the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy!

The prophet Daniel, in describing the final empire that will rule the world prior to the visible, physical, bodily return of Christ (the same one the Bush administration suddenly fears is becoming a rival to NATO), tells us it is going to become a dreadful beast with teeth of iron that will eventually devour the entire earth during the Tribulation Period to come, in sharp contrast to what most people presently perceive the seemingly-pacifistic and peace-loving EU wants. Oh, how deceived we presently are - in so many, many ways!

Daniel 7:23: Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

The article, which quotes British Defense Secretary John Reid at length, indicates Reid is saying NATO is still the "cornerstone" of European defense. What an interesting choice of words, for it is the cornerstone of a building upon which the final structure will be built!

As I look at Bible prophecy I have no trouble whatsoever seeing how NATO may, in the end, become the diplomatic Beast of Bible prophecy's teeth of iron, particularly in the cataclysmic Tribulation Period to come when the world is going to explode into warfare, as seen in Revelation 6:4 where we see the second of the four horsemen of the apocalypse make his prophetic ride:

Revelation 6:4: And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Reid is quoted in the article as saying NATO and the EU could "complement each other, arguing the EU could bring additional diplomatic and political strengths not existent in NATO."

In the world today, we see the international Quartet, which the revived Roman empire is part of, working to divide Israel's covenant lands in the interest of peace, potentially laying the groundwork for the prophesied Antichrist to arise in fulfillment of Daniel 9:26-27 and "confirm" a seven-year covenant of peace in the troubled Middle East, an event which will begin the seven-year Tribulation Period.

Recently, I've documented, both on the site's news links page and in commentaries I've written, that the European Union is now almost certainly going to have a physical presence on the ground in the Holy Land in the near future, setting the stage for the mechanism of peace confirmation to be activated, potentially in the not-too-distant future!

Against this backdrop we now see the British Defense Secretary is saying publicly that NATO's military capabilities and the European Union's diplomatic prowess would make for a dynamic combination! Do you think something like that could be in the works somewhere beneath the radar? If you think the notion of a new world order with a powerful military at its command is a far-fetched possibility, let me throw out a few quick things for you to ponder that may alter your opinion concerning that:

The diplomatic headquarters of the European Union is presently located in Brussels, Belgium. NATO headquarters is located, ironically, in Brussels, Belgium.
The current head of European Union foreign policy is Dr. Javier Solana. Solana, prior to becoming the European Union's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, was the Secretary General of NATO.

Could there be something of prophetic significance buried within all of that? Could be! These two international powerhouses, both of which are going to play pivotal roles in the future fulfillment of a number of Bible prophecies, barring anything unforeseen happening to NATO, are right next door to one another!

If tomorrow the Rapture should take place, the world would be turned upside down! In the aftermath, is it far-fetched to think the 25-nation European Union's leadership located in Brussels, Belgium could quickly gather with the military minds of NATO located in Brussels, Belgium and swiftly agree to work together in the interest of all concerned? I don't think so at all! In fact, I think this is what we can be certain will take place on some level, assuming that NATO remains intact until then.

The Bush administration, assuming the ePolitix.com article is accurate, is concerned the EU may be sharpening its military teeth, emerging as a rival to NATO. Someday, potentially in the near future, the Bible tells us the Bush administration's concerns will be validated.
