NATO and the Mark of the Beast

by Michael G. Mickey

(11-1-05)

ZDNet.com reported recently that NATO has recently been testing technologies, including radio frequency ID tags, trying to reduce its casualties as a result of friendly fire incidents. The article details how NATO has been looking into the use of a number of technologies that, working together, could prevent such mishaps from taking place. Within the article lies what I believe is the sobering reality of where this technology will ultimately lead us, which is revealed in Bible prophecy --- to the prophesied mark of the beast foretold in Revelation, chapter 13.

There are two excerpts from the article I'd like to address, in reverse order in relation to where they appear in the ZDNet.com article.

Excerpt #1

  • Although many of the technologies are bulky at the moment, similar technologies for individual troops could soon be on the horizon. "As these technologies progress, they all progress toward miniaturization, and that's good for the dismounted soldier," he said.

One of the technologies being investigated is radio frequency tagging, according to Lt. Col. Tony Sobrero of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Battlelab. But the radio frequency identification (RFID) tags being tested by the military are larger and more rugged--and much more expensive--than the ones being tested by retailers.

While the radio frequency ID tags spoken of in the ZDNet.com article (second paragraph above) speak to RFID tags for equipment, we can be sure the military is looking at how a technology of that nature could be useful in identifying individual soldiers from enemy combatants as well. As I've documented on numerous occasions, the miniaturization of RFID technology that could be used in foot soldiers is already complete with such devices being no larger than a grain of rice, so small they can be inserted into the human body through the use of a syringe.

Excerpt #2

  • The system allows commanders and gunners to investigate a target without having to aim the main gun at it, which could be considered threatening.

Bible prophecy tells us, in Revelation 13:16-17, a day is coming when the False Prophet of the Antichrist is going to require everyone, "both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads." Anyone who refuses to take this mark of allegiance to the Antichrist will be unable to buy and sell. By virtue of refusing the mark of the beast, those who don't take it will be considered enemies of the Antichrist.

If we are to believe the excerpt above and RFID technology is going to be a component of the prophesied mark of the beast system, representatives of the Antichrist's government will not even have to aim a gun at anyone to know who has the prophesied mark of the beast --- or who doesn't.

What once seemed a far-fatched idea - that the world could move to a cashless monetary system tied to one's identified loyalty to the Antichrist to come - is not so far-fetched at all anymore, is it?

In the prophetic future, agents of the Antichrist's new world order will be able to wade into a crowd, immediately recognizing friend from foe - one of the many reasons I'm glad I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior on this side of the Rapture of the Church! One day, potentially in the not-too-distant future, Jesus Christ is going to descend from heaven with a shout, calling His Church away prior to the onset of the Tribulation Period wherein the mark of the beast will become a reality.

It's moments like these, when I reflect on what's coming for unrepentant mankind and how blessed I am that I may be allowed to escape it, that I am so grateful that I have a Savior!

Thank you, Jesus!
