In the 83rd Psalm we see why the words recently spoken by Iranian President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are so significant to those of us monitoring the news
of our world today for evidence that we are rapidly moving toward fulfillment
of the Bible's final prophecies leading to the establishment of Christ's millennial
reign upon the earth.
Psalms 83:4: They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being
a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
As strikingly similar to the 83rd Psalm as Ahmadinejad's remarks were, what
I am amazed to see unfolding is what's taking place in the aftermath. Assuredly,
the stage is being set for prophetic fulfillment!
As shown in the Haaretz article linked above, the Italian pro-Israel rally
was called for by Il Foglio, a small conservative newspaper close to Italian
Premier Silvio Berlusconi. More than 500 "prominent Italians" are
expected to attend the rally, the purpose of which is "to defend the
right of Israel to exist." The Italian rally will be the latest in what
Haaretz is calling "a wave of demonstrations in support of Israel"
that have taken place across Europe in recent days.
Suddenly, as the Haaretz article demonstrates, many leaders associated with
the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy are coming out in favor of Israel
as a result of Iran's rhetoric. Israel, which I'm sure is pleased to be getting
some rare international support, is being set up for a great deception to
take place nonetheless.
Eventually, perhaps as a future byproduct of the European Union's seemed
revulsion at Ahmadinejad's remarks, Israel is going to welcome someone from
the European Union into its fold of trust who will promise them what they've
wanted for so long --- peace. It will be a huge mistake for this man will
destroy many by peace, as seen in Daniel 8:25. Far from willing to
stand by and allow Iran (or anyone else) to wipe Israel off the map, initially
at least, this leader, the prophesied Antichrist, will somehow confirm
a seven-year covenant of peace in the Middle East "with many."
(Daniel 9:26-27)
It's becoming an easier scenario to envision unfolding all the time, isn't
it? If it isn't, perhaps you should read an EU Observer article entitled 'Israel
wants EU to secure Gaza border'. The article quotes Israeli Foreign Minister
Silvan Shalom as saying he wants to see the European Union - the rising empire
the Antichrist will command authority over - play an active enforcement
role in the Holy Land and not just a "symbolic presence." KEYWORD:
ENFORCEMENT
Iran may be rankled that its president's words have drawn sharp criticism
against it from Rome and other European cities, but my concern lies with Israel.
Why? Because it is through gestures like the one that is to take place today
in Rome that Israel is going to be emboldened to place its trust where it
never should've.
As disturbing as it is to watch, especially knowing where all this is leading,
what we're seeing is what Bible prophecy seems to hint must come to pass in
order for prophetic fulfillment to occur. For there to be a need for
peace to be confirmed in the Holy Land, a threat to peace has to be
present --- and a significant one.
Iran is seeking nuclear weapons and, as it does so, has a president who is
spouting off against Israel, threateningly suggesting that Israel should be
wiped off the face of the earth! Not only that, but Hamas, as seen in a Yahoo
News story is vowing to end its truce with Israel at year's end. The European
Union - the future kingdom of Antichrist - is being asked to help as hope
for Middle East peace seems to be swiftly eroding.
Conclusions: Iran is rankled, Israel is deceived, the kingdom of Antichrist
has its foot in the door of Middle East peacemaking, and Jesus Christ is coming
soon! Could it be more obvious?
