The EU will soon be off to the Holy Land

Are things getting more interesting by the day or what?

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has abandoned the Likud Party he helped to form decades ago, with many suspecting it is a pretext to him uprooting the residents of Judea and Samaria as he recently did the Jews of Gaza, assuming he is still holding the nation's reigns of power after upcoming elections are held in the Holy Land in the near future.

As Israel experiences what some are calling a "political earthquake" in its national government, the European Union has finalized its plans to launch an "urgent" monitoring mission to the Gaza Strip to help the Palestinians run a key border crossing into Egypt. As seen in an EUBusiness.com article, some of those who will participate in this new peace venture on the part of the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy will be off to the Holy Land in a mere two days.

Within the EUBusiness.com article linked above is one of the most interesting comments I've seen made yet by an EU official. Middle East envoy Marc Otte is quoted as saying the following of the mission the EU is now about to undertake:

What "broader issues" will the EU be looking to turn to once the Gaza disengagement business is resolved? Will those issues involve the handing over of more of Israel's God-given covenant lands in the interest of peace, with Judea and Samaria coming first then, ultimately, Jerusalem?

As we look at what Bible prophecy tells us is coming, it becomes painfully clear that the EU's "intevention" in the Holy Land is going to continue, in all likelihood, from this point forward all the way to Armageddon! In Bible prophecy we're told a prince or leader of Roman descent is going to set the seven-year Tribulation Period, the time of Jacob's trouble, into motion by somehow confirming peace in the Middle East via a seven-year peace covenant between Israel and her enemies, as revealed in Daniel 9:26-27. It's coming around, readers! It is coming around!

The EU will soon be off to the Holy Land and there is no doubt in my mind the Europeans have their eyes set on Jerusalem. If I'm correct in assuming that's the case - and I believe time will bear out that I am, much as my prediction we'd see the European Union move from among the Quartet to become the leading voice in seeking peace in the Holy Land has born true - the Church may soon be off to higher ground, if you follow my logic.
