Iran's president may be playing into Bible prophecy
by Michael G. Mickey
(12-13-05)
You won't find the name 'Mahmoud Ahmadinejad' anywhere in
the Bible nor is his name likely to be associated with the number '666'
by anyone, but the more I hear of this man, the more convinced I am that
Ahmadinejad, president of nuclear weapon-seeking Iran, the world's #1 state
sponsor of radical Islamic terrorism, may have a lot to do with what Bible
prophecy tells us is going to take place in the prophetic future concerning
the nation of Israel and the world itself.
I'm sure everyone knows by now Ahmadinejad is doubtful the
Holocaust took place and he believes the nation of Israel to be a "disgraceful
blot" that needs to be "wiped off the map", but I believe,
looking at the big picture, Ahmadinejad may be doing far more than demonstrating
the evil desires of many of the kings of the earth who hope to see Israel
wiped from the face of the earth. He may be placing a great deal of pressure
on the international community to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
and quickly, especially as suspicion grows that Iran may obtain a nuclear
weapon in the not-too-distant future, becoming an existential threat to
Israel, as well as the West.
Psalms 83:4: They have said, Come, and let us cut them off
from [being] a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
On numerous occasions I've pointed out that governments around
the world have erroneously become convinced the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
is fueling the hatred that leads to radical Islamic terrorism and, subsequently,
bloody events taking place like September 11th, the Madrid train bombings,
and many, many others we've witnessed in recent years.
Jerusalem
Newswire's Ryan Jones wrote the following recently, demonstrating I'm
far from alone in my beliefs (emphasis added mine):
Ignoring the terrorist realities Israel faced during its first 19 years
as a modern sovereign nation, the local and international media have
popularized the notion that the hundreds of thousands of Jews living on
their biblical patrimony in Judea and Samaria are the root cause for Islamic
terrorism not only in Israel, but against the entire Western world.
Who do we see feeding the international community and media's delusions most
lately? Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, of course! He says something
bordering on insanity daily it seems, at least from my humble perspective.
The closer Iran gets to obtaining a nuclear weapon, particularly under the
leadership of Ahmadinejad, the more antsy the international community is becoming
in trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If you don't believe
it's true, look at how concerned the European Union suddenly is that it may
be perceived by the Israelis to be one-sided, having recently gotten its foot
solidly in the door of Middle East peacemaking by agreeing to monitor the
Gaza-Rafah border crossing!
What am I referring to? The recent decision made by EU Ministers to shelve
"a confidential and critical report on the Israeli Jerusalem policy due
to its highly sensitive nature", as documented in an EU
Observer article. Since when do the Europeans worry about upsetting the
Israelis? It was only a short year and a few months in the past that Javier
Solana growled that the EU was going to be involved in Middle East peacemaking
whether the Israelis liked it or not, but that is all in the past now ---
or so it seems. Conveniently in the past, in my opinion.
Are you following along so far? Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is
talking just as one would suspect a member of the future Gog-Magog invasion
described in Ezekiel 38 & 39 would be expected to, openly stating Israel
that needs to be blown off of the face of the earth. The European Union, normally
quick to criticize Israel, is responding to Ahmadinejad's maniacal rhetoric
by holding its fire, warning that publication of an EU report criticizing
Israel's Jerusalem policy "could undermine the EU's influence in the
area." We can't have that, now can we? Especially when we consider the
fact a leader from the EU - the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy - is
someday going to confirm a seven-year covenant of peace in the Middle East
"with many" in fulfillment of Daniel 9:26-27.
As seen in a Haaretz
article, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz is saying Iran
is going to hit a nuclear point of 'no return' within 3 short months. He isn't
alone in his suspicions, as seen in a different Haaretz
article which quotes the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog,
Mohamed ElBaradei. Like Halutz, ElBaradei is concerned Iran may be only a
few months away from obtaining a nuclear weapon - this taking place, ironically,
as the United States, Iran's second most-hated nation, wastes its time arguing
societally about whether it is proper for the Christian holiday of Christmas,
celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, should be celebrated
publicly, demonstrating how oblivious we've become as a nation to the deadly
threats that surround us! If ever there has been an hour when America needs
to be hitting its collective knees in honor of the birth of Christ, repenting
of its support of the cursed roadmap to peace which requires the Jewish people
to surrender Israel's God-given covenant lands to its enemies in direct defiance
of the Word of God, asking for divine protection from the very real threat
posed by nuclear terrorism, it's at this hour. The fact that isn't taking
place is a sad story all its own, but you get the picture I'm sure.
On March 28th, Israeli elections are going to take place. If we are to believe
a Jerusalem
Newswire commentary, and I thoroughly believe we can, both of the leading
parties' candidates are going to be offering the Jewish people hope that peace
is going to come to Israel, although their approaches to that will be different,
as seen in the following excerpt from Newswire's commentary:
When Israelis go to the polls in late March, two leading parties,
Labor and Kadima, will offer them a nearly identical policy on the peace
process: Accelerated negotiations with the PLO leading to the birth of a
Palestinian Arab state on ancient Jewish lands within four years.
The only difference between the two, according to speeches by Amir Peretz
and Ariel Sharon, is that Peretz's Labor looks set to capitulate to nearly
all Palestinian demands in order to conclude a peace deal,
while Sharon is prepared to unilaterally surrender the land if he is not
met halfway by the Arabs.
The fact Ahmadinejad's Iran is hurriedly seeking a nuclear weapon as Israeli
elections approach probably has a great deal to do with the two parties' positions
being what they presently are. Is there any doubt?
EU foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, speaking on the topic of the EU's
now-rejected report critical of Israel's Jerusalem policies, has said, "The
political landscape has altered within Israel - there is a general election
in a few months time."
Given the fact EU monitors are already on the ground in Israel and it is
apparent that whichever side wins the March 28th Israeli elections, Solana
knows, as do other leaders in the revived Roman empire, the EU is going to
be sitting pretty to play a large role in any developments in the Middle East
that move Israel and the Palestinians closer to peace negotiations and, ultimately,
resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As this is true, Solana is
wisely avoiding the EU risking its standing in the Middle East by criticizing
the Israelis.
All these things tell us opportunities for prophetic fulfillment to take
place in the not-too-distant future abound concerning the Gog-Magog invasion
detailed in Ezekiel 38 & 39, as well as the advent of the prophesied Antichrist
described in Daniel 9:26-27, the latter event, whenever it may ultimately
take place, being preceded by the Rapture of the Church.
The more I hear of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rhetoric, Iran's
nuclear weapon intentions, and Iran reaching the nuclear point of no return,
the more convinced I am that we are nearing the midnight hour when Jesus Christ
will come as a thief in the night to call His Bride, those who have accepted
Him as their Lord and Savior, from a world that has forgotten its God, starting
the seven-year countdown to the visible, physical, bodily return of Jesus
Christ to the earth in great power and glory at the battle of Armageddon.
Make no mistake about it, both believers and skeptics, the stage is being
set for all we've been told in the prophetic pages of the Word of God to take
place. The only question left to be answered is: When will these things begin
to take place in earnest?
The answer to that question, as far as any of us know, could be today - the reason I spend a great deal of time documenting what is taking place
in the world around us bringing us closer conditionally to the time when these
things will come to pass.
Maranatha!
