The Beast Prepares to Bite

Daniel 7:23: Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

In the seventh chapter of the book of Daniel, we see four beasts (or empires) that will rule the world described. These empires are:

1. The Babylonian empire.
2. The Medo-Persian empire.
3. The Greek empire.
4. The Roman empire.

In Daniel 7:23, we see that the final empire to rule the world, symbolized as a beast, shall devour the whole earth! What a hungry beast the revived Roman empire of today's world we refer to as the European Union is, huh?

In recent years, we've seen its membership swell from 15 to 25 nations and now it can be reported, as seen in an EUBusiness.com article, that Romania and Bulgaria will become the 26th and 27th member nations of this ever-growing beast on January 1, 2007.

To be sure this is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy in the making! Another portion of the earth is about to be devoured, in ever-unfolding fulfillment of Daniel 7:23.

The rising Beast government the prophesied Antichrist will someday lead to global dominance is growing in power, influence and mass - yet another reminder that Jesus Christ is coming soon!
