Artificial Omniscience

by Michael G. Mickey

(10-17-06)

I've heard it said, perhaps more than once, that Satan has never come up with an idea of his own. What he has done, however, is find ways to counterfeit what God does through inferior means. I believe we can see that in many issues presently visible in the world around us.

Whatever God has conceived, Satan has misconceived. Whatever God is for, he is against. One example that comes to mind right off the top of my head is marriage. God has ordained that marriage will be a union consisting of one man and one woman. Therefore, attempting to demonstrate an ability to be God-like and oppose Him at the same time, Satan has his own versions of marriage. Yes, Satan is behind same-sex marriage, but he has also arranged more than marriage of the same-sex variety. Sometimes he places people in a position that leaves them married to a goat as seen in a BBC article. Other times he and his minions lead others to worship false gods, some of whom may require you to marry a geographical feature like a hill, as seen in a Yahoo News story. You get the idea.

Bearing the previous in mind, because God is omniscient and Satan is not, he is striving to become as close to such as he can on his own. Acting in his role as the god of this world, as seen in 2nd Corinthians 4:4, Satan and the powers and principalities under his control are working to achieve a scientific means through which Satan can be artificially omniscient, leading us closer to the time when the one-world government of Antichrist will be able to tag mankind like cattle through the mark of the beast and know, by virtue of same, where they are at all times, what their opinions are, what kind of shoes they wear, what type of breakfast cereal they like and even control their ability to buy or sell. Far-fetched? Hardly, as I'm about to demonstrate!

At breakneck speed mankind is creating more and more capable means of storing and analyzing data. The BBC recently reported that IBM is building the world's most powerful supercomputer at a US governmental laboratory. This supercomputer may well be be four times more potent than the current fastest computer, which was also built by IBM. Can you imagine that? The most powerful computer on earth quadrupled!

Recently, I found a New York Times story on software presently under development by a consortium of universities on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security quite fascinating. According to the story, software under development will soon allow the government to monitor negative opinions of the United States or its leaders in newspapers and other publications overseas. Lucy Dalglish, a lawyer and former editor who is executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, is quoted in the story as saying, “It is just creepy and Orwellian.” I couldn't agree more and can't help but wonder if that software, as it makes its way across the worldwide web, isn't going to have a look at what the common man is thinking about our government as well by peering onto personal web pages, e-mails, etc. I, for one, don't believe for a second the software under development is simply going to look at newspapers and publications overseas as the government has enemies that potentially threaten its security and plans that are both foreign and domestic, right?

If the thought of software like that being developed as detailed in the New York Times doesn't creep you out right this moment, pause for a moment and think how the new world order of Antichrist will be able to utilize this or a similar technology in the prophetic future to exercise nearly total control over the masses. And trust me when I tell you that technology of that sort will be a component of things to come!

And then there's the coming mark of the beast itself to consider, as described in Revelation 13:16-17. Each and every day, we're getting closer to that becoming a reality, as revealed through many sources as I continue to document.

A BBC article opens by stating that "electronically tagging passengers at airports could help the fight against terrorism." Consider the big picture of what may be in the works as you carefully read the following excerpt from that article:

Dr Paul Brennan, an electrical engineer, is leading the tagging project, known as Optag.

He said: "The basic idea is that airports could be fitted with a network of combined panoramic cameras and RFID (radio frequency ID) tag readers, which would monitor the movements of people around the various terminal buildings."

The plan, he said, would be for each passenger to be issued with a tag at check-in.

He said: "In our system, the location can be detected to an accuracy of 1m, and video and tag data could be merged to give a powerful surveillance capability."

A powerful surveillance capability to be sure! Talk about Orwellian and creepy! Why, pray tell, once a traveler at an airport has cleared entry level screening, would the government need to know, within an accuracy of 1m no less, every single move they make once they're inside the security of the airport terminal? An article by Engadget.com seems just as suspicious as I am as to why, opening with the following remarks:

If you thought toting an RFID-enabled passport was infringing on your so-called privacy, the European Union is going the extra mile to ensure you completely relinquish any remaining aspects of personal choice when you enter its airports. On a mission to "improve airport efficiency, security and passenger flow" (read: keep a constant eye on your every twitch), the EU is dropping €2 million ($2.5 million) on the Optag project, which allow(s) airports to toss a newly-developed RFID tag around the necks of all incoming passengers.

How about that? Who would guess that the revived Roman empire the Antichrist will someday lead would begin researching a way to tag people like cattle and monitor their every move or, as the Engadget.com article put it nicely, "keep a constant eye on your every twitch" in a privacy-invasive manner like this?

The Optag project. Could that stand for Operation Tag, as in tagging mankind for observation? A look at the official website on OpTag is very interesting, having both the EU flag and a flashy 6 design, symbolic of the "6th Framework programme for Aeronautics and Space", displayed on its opening page. One article on OpTag highlighted on its official website is ominously subtitled "Every step you take".

Oh yeah, just in case the notion of the EU government monitoring every step you take in airports and the United States scanning every item on the worldwide web to determine how the world views its government creeps you out, the European Union Commission is considering a draft law for 2007 which will, or so it is suggested in a Topix.net article, call for RFID privacy enhancements. At least one of the two is thinking of safeguarding the privacy of its citizens, right? Well, no. Interestingly, the same EU Commission that is going to call for RFID privacy enhancements is the same EU Commission funding the OpTag program! How odd, huh?

And we wonder if we're zooming down the highway toward the mark of the beast? Let there be no doubt!

The closer Satan gets to achieving artificial omniscience, at least concerning the affairs of mankind, the closer we are to the return of Jesus Christ, which is why I continue to sound the alert that Jesus Christ is coming soon!

Keep your eyes on the skies!
