Sodom, New Jersey, Gomorrah and Massachusetts

Leviticus 18:22: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Luke 17:28-30: Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Lot lived in Sodom, which is, of course, the root word of the word sodomy, which is defined as: Any of various forms of sexual intercourse held to be unnatural or abnormal.

In the story of Sodom, as told in Genesis 19, homosexuality was bold, overt and rampant as evidenced by the men of Sodom trying to force their way into Lot's house that they might know, in the biblical sense, two male angels who had come to visit him. We find that the wicked men of Sodom were pressing against Lot's door when the angels struck them with blindness, this apparently being the only way to prevent them from trying to know them wickedly, as in sodomize them.

I want you to notice the following, in terms of the prophetic implications of Luke 17:28-30:

Genesis 19:4: But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

By examining Luke 17:28-30 and Genesis 19 in totality, we find that life was proceeding normally prior to judgment falling on Sodom, homosexuality was rampant, overt, bold and acceptable by both old and young, all the people from every quarter!

While most everyone knows that Massachusetts has been marrying same-sex couples for some time now, thumbing its nose at Almighty God, the New Jersey Supreme Court, as seen in an Associated Press story, has now opened the door "to making the state the second in the nation to allow gay marriage, ruling that lawmakers must offer homosexuals either marriage or something like it, such as civil unions."

The New Jersey Supreme Court's ruling went 4-3 in favor of the measure and, amazingly, the three dissenting votes that were cast were not against same-sex marriage but dissenting because of the fact the Court's ruling didn't guarantee homosexuals the absolute right of marriage! Don't take my word for it, though. See for yourself! Here is what the story says on that:

The three dissenters argued that the majority did not go far enough. They demanded full marriage for gays.

Not only did the Supreme Court of New Jersey hand another victory to homosexual activists, it is, apparently, a house divided in that it didn't give them an even greater victory! We're about as close to being a Genesis 19:4 society as we can get at this point! Amen?

As bad as it is now, and I say that not to hurt the feelings of homosexuals but in affirmation of God's Word which prohibits their lifestyle without exception, it is going to get even worse leading up to the Rapture of the Church for we find that Lot's righteous soul, as seen in 2nd Peter 2:7-8, was vexed as he lived among them, witnessing their unlawful deeds. The term 'vexed' as used in these passages is kataponeo {kat-ap-on-eh'-o} in the original Greek, which is defined as:

1) to tire down with toil, exhaust with labour

a) to afflict or oppress with evils

b) to make trouble for

c) to treat roughly

When I see issues like this in the news and I see what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah, it vexes my soul a great deal, not because I hate homosexuals or even dislike them for that matter. They're sinners and I'm a sinner myself so we have that much in common, if nothing else! What truly vexes my soul, however, concerning homosexual activism of this sort, is the defiance of God that these activists engage in places not only themselves in danger of God's judgment but all of us! When they push their sins committed against God to levels that they try to steal for themselves the institution of marriage which wasn't conceived by mankind but by God Himself, it is tantamount to slapping the Father across the face and He will not be mocked. They don't realize it, clearly, but they're literally requesting the wrath of God to fall on our lands when they try to make their personal sins against Almighty God the law of the whole land! That's when it gets dangerous for us all as the Bible tells us what can occur when things get to that level! All we need do is look at Leviticus 18:24-25 to see why I make that assertion:

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

In the above passage of Scripture, we see the impact that rampant homosexuality and bestiality had on the nations which God cast out before the children of Israel. Their very lands were defiled in the eyes of Almighty God to the extent they vomited them out! That wasn't good in Moses' time or Lot's time and it's definitely not good now, regardless of how happy the notion of same-sex marriage makes those who choose to ignore God's Word and live in rebellion against His will in that manner!

When the world becomes Sodom and Gomorrah....

A Family News in Focus article is right on target, in my opinion, concerning a rise in appointments of gay judges across America. The article quotes Bruce Hausknecht with Focus on the Family Action as saying, “With the support that the Human Rights Campaign has for putting gay and lesbian judges on the bench, there’s no question in my mind that they’re not interested in diversity on the bench. What they’re interested in, is judges who will vote for gay marriage. Period.”

Satan and his minions have set up a same-sex marriage beach head in the northeastern United States of America and there's no let-up in sight! On November 7, for example, the prince of darkness will try his hand at preventing voters in my home state, the Commonwealth of Virginia, from voting to have an amendment added to Virginia's state constitution that will slam the door shut in the face of same-sex marriage by defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman. According to the Washington Times, the battle here in Virginia is going to go down to the wire. And Virginia is, by and large, a conservative state!
