Seeing isn't always believing!

by Michael G. Mickey

(10-29-06)

Seeing is believing or so we've been told most of our lives. In today's commentary, however, I want to address the issue of a strong delusion that is going to fall upon the world in the aftermath of the Rapture of the Church - one that many are going to buy hook, line and sinker!

In Scripture, this delusion is described as follows, as recorded in 2nd Thessalonians 2:8-12:

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

[Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

As I would readily tell anyone who is living their life in rejection of Jesus Christ, once the Rapture happens, things are going to change immeasurably on planet earth. While Satan already possesses tremendous ability to confuse people as to their priorities, a world which will have lost its light in the form of the Church will be so filled with darkness that sin, corruption, spiritual confusion and demonic activity will be rampant.

An evil leader we Christians commonly refer to as the Antichrist, referred to as "that Wicked" in the passage of Scripture above, is going to rise to prominence as a peacemaker during those times. He will, having brought a perception of peace and safety to the troubled Middle East by virtue of confirmation of a seven-year covenant of peace in the region, set out to deceive the world with incredible satanic powers, signs and lying wonders at his disposal.

Those most susceptible to believing his lies, as astounding as it is to consider, will be those who heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and rejected it, not because they necessarily doubted its truthfulness but, instead, took pleasure in their unrighteousness. Have you ever witnessed Christ to someone who told you, right up front, that they love sin so much that they can't accept Christ, at least not now? I have a number of friends who have plainly told me as much, prompting me to warn them that if they continue in that line of thinking, in spite of what they know of me and my work on RaptureAlert.com, they may very well be unable to grasp the truth once the Rapture has occurred!

If one fully understands their need of a Savior and yet rejects Jesus Christ due to their love of sin, how likely is it that they'd gravitate to a lie if it helped them to overcome their conscience and continue in their sin, especially if the lie was such that they could see something physically with their eyes that reinforced the lie? Pretty likely in my opinion, which leads me to the topic of this commentary.

In the world we live in today, seeing is not necessarily believing as technology exists capable of deceiving our minds into seeing things visibly that aren't physically there, as I will demonstrate via a linked video at the end of this commentary which RaptureAlert.com reader John Reynolds sent me recently.

In the Tribulation Period to come, the False Prophet of the Antichrist, in support of the Antichrist making a claim that he is god - literally - is going to create an image of the Antichrist which will be able to both speak and cause all those who refuse to bow in worship before the image of the beast be killed! (Revelation 13:15)

What will this image of the Antichrist consist of? Some believe it will be a literal clone of him. Others believe the False Prophet, through his immensity in demonic power, will be able to make an inanimate likeness of the Antichrist "come to life" somehow and others believe it will be accomplished through technological deception such as the use of holographic imagery.

In the video below, a demonstration of holographic technology that presently exists is given at a conference of some type. The gentleman speaking in the video has a heavy accent. It took me several minutes to adjust to hearing him before I could clearly follow what he was saying so those viewing the video may experience similar difficulties. The technology featured in the presentation is Total Immersion's D'Fusion technology, demonstrative, in my opinion, of how easily those left behind in the aftermath of the Rapture of the Church could be deceived by believing what they both see and are told, lacking the discernment necessary to distinguish reality from demonically or technologically augmented reality.

The video (approximately 5 minutes in length)

What does this video demonstrate? It reveals that holographic technology exists today capable of making non-existent, seemingly physical objects capable of interacting with and reacting to physical objects. Secondly, it demonstrates there are some geniuses working at Total Immersion! Lastly, it demonstrates that seeing isn't always believing in these end times - something for those living in rejection of Jesus Christ to consider as the evidence pointing to Jesus Christ's soon-coming return continues to rise at an unprecedented rate in human history, in my opinion.

If the Rapture should take place today and "video" began pouring into news outlets around the world documenting mass sightings of UFOs, for example, with sources stating these were spotted globally at or near the moment the Rapture of the Church took place, how many would look back at the Roswell incident of 1947 and wonder, just wonder, if there was a government cover-up of what took place there, as many have suggested for years? What if video evidence of a "cosmic phenomena" of some sort was presented to the world as the "official explanation" for the Rapture of the Church? How many would automatically accept that as what took place as opposed to the Rapture of the Church? Either of these are possibilities, in spite of the fact that neither of them may be what the strong delusion to come will consist of. All we know for sure, based on the Word of God, is that the sensibilities of many are going to fail them in the hour they most need them to work properly, proving that seeing isn't always believing!
