Is the implantable microchip ready to track us?

by Michael G. Mickey

Revelation 13:16-17: And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

In the prophetic future, beyond the Rapture of the Church, the Antichrist, a prince (or leader) of Roman descent, is going to arise to global power as leader of the revived Roman empire we today call the European Union. Aiding him in gaining near-total control over mankind will be a False Prophet who will eventually require a mark be received by every person as a sign of their loyalty to the Antichrist and their complete submission to his authority. Could this mark, commonly referred to as the mark of the beast, be an implantable microchip such as the VeriChip, which is being manufactured by Applied Digital Solutions? Possibly, although none of us can state that with certainty at this point.

Presuming, for the purposes of this commentary, that an implantable technology of this nature could be utilized as the mark of the beast in the future, one has to wonder how close we are to the implantable microchip or other RFID-based technologies being able to track us today. Opinions vary, but a KOMORADIO.com article quotes Doug Klunder, Director of Privacy for the Washington State office of the American Civil Liberties Union, as saying, "This is a fabulous technology for tracking things, but it's not ready for prime time when it comes to tracking people."

Although the RFID microchip, whether implanted in our bodies or embedded in other objects, may not be "ready for prime time", other areas of the article reveal that large companies like Microsoft and other companies are coming up with many ways to utilize RFID technology, as seen in the following excerpt from the article:

In downtown Seattle, users of Awarea Corporation's "Omni" system can hear targeted announcements custom made for that user. The Omni device is an active RFID transponder that looks like a keychain. When a person carrying the Omni passes within 35 feet of an Omni Zone, an audio message is broadcasted from overhead speakers. Awarea has cut a deal with Qwest to mount speakers and RFID readers on top of several phone booths.

What the Omni holder hears are often commercial announcements involving stores that are in the same block. Each announcement begins with the user's name.

In this example we see that a microchip in a keychain can be detected from 35 feet away and recognize who the chip is connected to instantaneously! Not only can this be done, a system of this type is already in use in downtown Seattle! Call me crazy but I'd say the RFID microchip is swiftly getting ready for prime time, in spite of some flaws the technology presently has which are being worked on, undoubtedly, as I write this very commentary.

Adding to my suspicion that the implantable RFID microchip may be a mark of the beast prototype at the very least, an article by The Register states that an "external security advisory committee reporting to the US Department of Homeland Security has produced a highlight critical report (PDF) advising against the use of RFID technology in government documents."

Most interesting to me, as can be read in the report itself, is the following sentence (emphasis added mine): "When DHS does choose to use RFID to identify and track individuals, we recommend the implementation of the specific security and privacy safeguards."

Eventually, the world is going to become very Orwellian in appearance according to Bible prophecy. Even now, as we see in the draft report of the Department of Homeland Security's Emerging Applications and Technology Subcommittee, it seems to be a given that government is eventually going to identify and track individuals using RFID technology of some sort. This should come as no big surprise to anyone as RFID microchips are already being used in passports and other important documents, laying the groundwork for what is eventually going to come - the implementation of the prophesied mark of the beast!

In closing, is the implantable microchip ready to track us? Some say no, but there is mounting evidence to the contrary, as shown in this commentary. Are we living in the end times? Some, like me, say yes and there is no evidence mounting to the contrary!

Keep your eyes on the skies! Jesus Christ is coming soon!
