Blazing the trail to Middle East peace, part deux

Ready for a prophetic bombshell? Spain, Italy and France are to launch a new Middle East peace initiative, according to the BBC and Spain's Prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

This comes only two days after I commented on the EU's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, speaking of a "new truth" and a "new roadmap", which I found to be an interesting news tidbit to say the least. In that same commentary, I spoke of the Alliance of Civilizations, which is presently referred to as a "United Nations Secretary-General initiative", considering appointing a high-level representative to work to defuse tensions at times of crisis, undoubtedly with the Middle East in mind.

Well before the the Alliance of Civilizations was a "United Nations Secretary-General initiative", I believe it was the brainchild of one Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the same Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero who is presently announcing the lastest Middle East peace initiative!

On November 28, 2005, I wrote the following on the topic of the Alliance of Civilizations which is going to take on new meaning for many of my readers in light of the latest development:

Well before Kofi Annan was talking up the "Alliance of Civilizations", Spanish prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, as seen in a BBC report dated July of 2004, issued what I believe was the initial call for such a group when he asked for "an international effort to resolve cultural and religious differences between the Western and Muslim world" --- what he originally referred to as an "alliance of cultures". What I want my readers to note, particularly, from the 2004 article is the following (emphasis added mine):

The alliance he envisages could therefore prevent hate and misunderstanding from developing by looking at political and cultural issues - everything from joint peace keeping missions to interfaith dialogue.

Did you catch that? Peacekeeping and interfaith dialogue! While I have no idea if Zapatero's proposed "alliance of cultures", which is now being called the "Alliance of Civilizations" by Kofi Annan's U.N., is seen in the Bible, prophecy tells us an alliance of civilizations of some sort is going to take place in the prophetic future --- one that will confirm a seven-year peace in the Middle East between Israel and its enemies (Daniel 9:26-27), as well as impose a universal religion on mankind --- one that will see the peacemaker from the revived Roman empire (today's EU) who will someday confirm peace between Israel and its enemies proclaimed to be "god" three and one-half years later and commanded to be worshipped, as seen in the 13th chapter of Revelation.

For some time now, probably since day one of RaptureAlert.com's existence, I've been telling my readers to keep any eye out for something to take place that would place the European Union in the driver's seat of Middle East peacemaking. It's coming around, Christians! It's coming around!

Bible prophecy, as seen in Daniel 9:26-27, tells us that a prince (or leader) of Roman descent is someday going to pull off what seems to be the impossible at this hour in human history. This prophesied Roman prince (or leader), whomever he may prove to be, is going to confirm (or make strong) a seven-year covenant of peace in the Middle East between Israel and her enemies "with many." All of this is seen in Daniel 9:26-27. This leader will be the Antichrist and his peace covenant? Its confirmation will begin the seven-year countdown to Armageddon; it will be the onset of the Tribulation Period.

Presently, we see a new peace initiative is being announced by Spain, Italy, and France by Spanish PM Zapatero, the Socialist who conceived the Alliance of Civilizations, as documented in a Guardian Unlimited article from 2005. This initiative, if accepted by the international community as legitimate, will place the European Union in the driver's seat where Middle East peacemaking is concerned. Not only that, the new initiative will feature Italy, the seat of power of the former Roman empire, as one of its primary sponsors. This, naturally, raises the possibility that a Roman prince who is actually ROMAN could somehow step forward with the answer to resolving the Middle East conflict. Wow! Talk about high drama!

Although one can never predict what is going to happen in this topsy turvy end times world of ours from one minute to the next, it appears the "new truth" and "new roadmap" of which EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana recently spoke of is coming into view, giving the European Union, the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy, unprecedented opportunity to blaze the trail to Middle East peace and, quite possibly, to the advent of the Antichrist, an event which will be preceded by the Rapture of the Church, which could come at any moment!

With each passing day, from my perspective, things are looking more and more favorable for the fulfillment of end times Bible prophecy to be fulfilled - and soon! Christians, I can't stress the need for us to reach out to a lost and dying world and present them with the evidence around us that indicates Jesus Christ is coming soon than right now! It's not any one prophetic sign of Christ's coming that convicts me that we desperately need to be doing so, but the sum total of all the evidence around us that I've documented in the past and continue to on a near-daily basis!

The prophetic scenario is becoming more clearly visible all the time - a reminder that our God is ALIVE, ON THE THRONE, AND IN CONTROL!
