Did Isaiah see this coming?

When I took off to Virginia for a brief visit to see my mom, I never dreamed that my isolation from both cell phone towers and the worldwide web would cause my jaw to hit the floor this morning when I discovered, potentially, why Damascus was accusing Israel of "aggression" last week after reports surfaced that Israel had dropped ordinance on Syrian soil.

As seen in an Associated Press article, North Koreans have been seen in Syria. Not only that, Syria, according to the United States, is now on its nuclear watch list as a result! Fox News is echoing the AP article.

What, exactly, were these individuals from a nation we are being led to believe is disarming itself of nuclear weapons technology and, potentially, actual nuclear weapons doing there? Apparently something of grave concern to both the United States and Israel!

While American Andrew Semmel, acting deputy assistant secretary of state for nuclear nonproliferation policy, is saying he doesn't know if the contacts between North Korea and Syria produced any results, a Ynetnews.com article indicates that a Washington official is saying Israeli surveillance has detected a possible Syrian nuclear installation stocked by North Korea! In addition, the article documents that an Arab Israeli newspaper is indicating that the target of the aforementioned Israeli Air Force attack of last week targeted a Syrian missile base financed by Iran! And to think that some, including myself, were beginning to think North Korea was at least toying with the idea of removing itself from what President Bush once called an "Axis of Evil." So much for that passing thought!

With every passing day, the prophetic scenario foretold by the Bible becomes increasingly clear. In Isaiah 17:1, Isaiah predicts that Damascus is going to be taken away from being a city and be left a ruinous heap!

I wonder if this is at least part of what Isaiah saw coming thousands of years ago that is bringing us ever closer to that event becoming a reality? Could be!

Keep your eyes on the skies, Church! Jesus Christ is Lord, God's prophetic Word is true, and soon we are going home!
