An AOL story from last week sent to me by a reader of the site is yet another example of how the table is being set, so to speak, for it to be extremely difficult to set the dinner table in the Tribulation Period to come.

Did you know that the average price of a loaf of whole-wheat bread is up 24% from just a year ago because wheat prices have risen by as much as 70% in areas of the United States? As we look into the prophetic future through the Word of God we see that things are going to get far worse before they get better.

Revelation 6:5-6: And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

What this tells us in plainspeak is that, in the early Tribulation Period, wheat is going to become so scarce that it will cost a day’s pay to buy the ingredients for a single loaf of bread. It's coming around, folks!

The AOL article quotes Dan Basse, president of AgResource Co., a Chicago commodity forecasting concern, as saying, "The days of cheap grain are gone."

The days of cheap grain aren't going, people. They're GONE.

Setting the table is hard for many families today as any mom will tell you who visits the grocery store regularly. I say that because most of my male friends and I don't do the grocery shopping very often but hear a lot about how much buying a few small bags of goods costs these days. That isn't going to change anytime soon it appears - another reason for those of us who wholly believe that Christ's return is right around the prophetic corner to remain steadfast in our watching for that event to occur.

It could even happen TODAY.
