Tancredo spots political correctness

by Michael G. Mickey
(10-9-07)

A OneNewsNow.com article states that Congressman and presidential candidate Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) is upset that the House recently passed a resolution commending Islam and recognizing the month of Ramadan.

Before I go into detail in relation to Tancredo's concerns, I want to remind everyone of the three weapons that I personally believe spiritual wickedness in high places is utilizing most effectively to lead the world deeper and deeper into rebellion against God. They are:

  1. Political correctness
  2. Moral Relativism
  3. Tolerance
By satanic design, we have become a nation that is more worried about offending what and who is wrong than doing and acknowledging what is right - and therein lies our problem.

Now to Congressman Tancredo's concerns. He is correctly quoted as saying that Congress would never pass a resolution commending a Christian or Jewish celebration in a similar fashion, adding that the act on the part of Congress is "an example of the degree to which political correctness has captured the political and media elite" of the United States.

Amen to that! It is also a laser beam indicator of just how far we have strayed from our Judeo-Christian values and the God of the Bible!

In fairness to those who practice the Muslim faith, all of whom I wish we could share the gospel with and lead to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as well as Congressman Tancredo, Tancredo doesn't have a problem with our government recognizing a celebration of a religion's faith. Neither do I.

What Congressman Tancredo has a problem with, as we all should, is that the political correctness demonstrated in this instance flows only in one direction which is typical. Political correctness and tolerance ALWAYS flows against God in situations like these. That would be, once again, because Satan is using these instruments of spiritual warfare to drive a wedge between God and mankind, particularly mankind living in the United States of America in this example.

The last two paragraphs of the article sum everything up perfectly. They read as follows:
Tancredo says one only has to compare the contrasting examples of William & Mary College in Virginia and the University of Michigan. "We find that it is perfectly acceptable to, let's say, force William & Mary College, which is a public college now, to take down its crucifix -- but at the same time allow institutions like the University of Michigan to install foot baths for Muslim students preparing for prayer," he points out.

The GOP presidential hopeful says similar resolutions for Christians or Jews would be condemned by the elites as breaching the non-existent line between church and state.

Is there any doubt whatsoever that Congressman Tancredo is correct? Absolutely not.

Not only do we have a Congress willing to kowtow to only one religion, namely Islam, President Bush, who proclaims himself to be a Christian, is no better.

As seen in a WorldNetDaily.com article, he is quoted as having said recently, "Well, first of all, I believe in an Almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That's what I believe. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace. And I believe people who murder the innocent to achieve political objectives aren't religious people, whether they be a Christian who does that – we had a person blow up our – blow up a federal building in Oklahoma City who professed to be a Christian, but that's not a Christian act to kill innocent people."

What I would tell the president is it is similarly not a Christian act to say that all religions pray to the same God when only one religion acknowledges Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! The Koran specifically denies that God has a son, and our Christian president is okay with that? He thinks we're praying to the same God?

Our Congress wouldn't so much as nod its head to the Christian faith for a second because of the mythical separation of church and state but readily acknowledges Islam, foolishly thinking that appeasement of radical elements of the faith who practice it will be less likely to attack us! Utter nonsense! All these ridiculous overtures do is strengthen radical Islam's belief that it can destroy our nation's Judeo-Christian values and, ultimately, conquer us as a people.

Conclusions

Congressman Tom Tancredo has spotted political correctness rearing its ugly head in Washington. Hopefully, all who read this will see it as well as this is Satan's handiwork at its very best - or worst as the case may be.

If the United States of America wants true national security and peace, there is no better method whatsoever to achieve it than to openly praise, obey and honor the one true God, Jehovah, and His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD! (Psalm 33:12)

Note from Mike: After completing this commentary, I found that Joseph Farah had written a column on moral relativism being practiced in politics today. Believe it or not, America, there are absolutes in morality as defined by the Word of God! I had no idea when I got out of bed this morning that I would write on this today but it seems the Holy Spirit is drawing us to these issues on this particular day! And Joseph's commentary? Spot on as usual!
