Annapolis: Will peace be confirmed?

WorldNetDaily.com is reporting that President Bush "told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during a private meeting" yesterday that "the U.S. will ensure the Palestinians will have a state on the ground before Bush leaves office."

If it's true that President Bush conveyed this to Abbas, his words were, in all likelihood, the most frightful words ever spoken where the imminent safety of the United States of America is concerned! May God have mercy on His faithful Church that stands in opposition to the division of Israel's covenant lands which He has given them as an "everlasting possession" if this story is accurate. (Genesis 17:8, Genesis 48:4)

Regardless of whether President Bush promised the Palestinians a state in 2008 or not, the Times Online is today reporting that a breakthrough is 'near' that could make Middle East peace a reality!

What will happen as a result of Annapolis is anyone's guess at this point but it's nothing short of amazing how many leaders from around the world are involved in the summit. The following is an excerpt from the Times Online article linked above that demonstrates the magnitude of international interest this summit has generated which, make no mistake about it, is an affront to Almighty God Himself!

The summit, which aims to lay the ground for new talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, is being attended by nearly 50 countries, including a record 17 Arab nations. Both Syria and Saudi Arabia are present — the first time Saudi officials have sat with Israelis to talk about peace in the Middle East.

The emphasis placed in the excerpt above is mine because I want everyone to consider the weight all the diplomats attending this event carries as we look at what Bible prophecy tells us is ultimately going to come to pass!

Daniel 9:27: And he [the prophesied Antichrist - a prince (or leader) of Roman descent] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

What we're seeing take place in Annapolis is a sign of things to come and, potentially, far more!

Already the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy we commonly refer to as the European Union is, according to an EUBusiness.com article, "preparing to back a major Middle East peace conference with new security and economic measures."

Back to Daniel 9:27 which describes the advent of the prophesied Antichrist...

Daniel 9:27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

What the prophesied Antichrist is going to do to kick off the seven-year Tribulation Period is confirm (or make strong) a seven-year (one week) covenant of peace in the Middle East with many in support of him!

What is the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy the Antichrist will eventually lead to conquer the world promising to do if Annapolis is a success? Get ready for a jolt, Christians!

In a document entitled "Statebuilding for Peace in the Middle East: an EU Action Strategy", the EU is promising it will, if requested, "be ready in due course to contribute to a system of security arrangements that would be agreed between the parties in the framework of a permanent settlement."

Falling right in line with Scripture, the European Union is promising, as clearly as I can tell, that it will be willing to confirm (or make strong) any covenant of peace that is reached as a result of the Annapolis peace conference.

As the attendance of a host of aforementioned diplomats from around the world bears witness to, the Antichrist, when the appointed moment comes for him to makes his prophesied appearance as the 'glue' that holds Middle East piece together, is going to find the "many" prophesied to join him in support of a seven-year covenant of peace ready and waiting to come to his aid.
