Job and Revelation

The lessons in Job reveal the book of Revelation

Shared with us at the very beginning of creation

Yes… from day one the struggle was revealed

To discerning listeners, not much is concealed

Not when but why is the major theme of the books

Job is of the first of five wisdom poetical works

The old and new testaments; both means to the end

Understand the warnings, tests and what they portend

Job unaware of just how the veiled prologue began

Clueless to the dialogue of Satan and God’s hand

“Humans only love You out of self-interest and blessings”

“Have you considered my servant Job, go ahead and test him”

“He’s upright and blameless; he spurns all evil when he sees it”

Thus setting the stage for the “not of this world” agreement

We’re more privy than Job to witness in conventional senses

The bible was not yet written but Job wasn’t left defenseless

There’s so much more held within than that God is sovereign

God called on each miserable comforter, and He did it by name

Suffering is not merely the consequence of unconfessed sins

Learn this lesson first and foremost; with it your victory begins

The wicked prosper a short time but their days are numbered

Better to suffer and grow than remain in unrepentant slumber

God only rebukes His beloved saints whom He has in training

Despite what the accuser or your varied critics may be saying

Not to deny earthly consequence for the world and the flesh

We do reap what we sow, some now and the others at death

The Lord holds the scales; He will judge the vile and unjust

Satan need not tempt them; for they are already corrupt!

Man’s intellect alone can’t comprehend the Master’s course

Our world unveiled through Job and to the types of discourse

Even without a bible Job felt it in his conscience and his soul

That there was to be a “Redeemer” years before it was told!

The opening verse tells the humble kind of man Job was

He prayed ceaselessly knowing every gift was from above

Job possessed wealth and grace but it did not possess him

From this proper perspective let the epic saga begin

He prayed for his children and had the insight of concern

When things are going well it’s away from heaven we turn

How many think they are prosperous without God’s assistance?

How many of us travel along the least path of least resistance?

How many ONLY think about God’s unchanged foundation

During the midst of our grievances when our lives are shaken?

Instead of praying for wisdom, we simply pray for relief

To take away the pain instead of the lesson that we need

If God took away the pain you’d lose the lesson and repeat them

He knows your adversary well and is training you to defeat him

Sometimes pain is a consequence of our selfishness and sin

We read not the bible’s warning and remain helpless within

Then, when some of us are rebuked or tested we cease to serve

Confirming the lie of Satan while cursing God’s word!

Those who doubt our Lord will partake in Satan’s ultimate defeat

For he’s “walking to and fro” looking for all he can deceive

In our doubt we give our adversary the opportunity to attack

It’s when we nurse our anger that Satan feeds on the wrath

Anger causes pride then rebellion; the devil’s philosophy

Supplanting the battle on the earth and the heavenly unseen

This is the most important warning in our earthly trials

You must keep the faith and not surrender to Satan’s wiles

God told us that our afflictions are never meaningless

The elect are refined by fire for God’s eternal purpose

Why did God allow Satan to attack Job to the core of his being?

While using Job’s closest friends to continue the beating?

We are forewarned of the war going on in heavenly places

And of wolves in sheep’s clothing casting doubts on His graces

Another point that must be taught and learned by every believer

From cradle to coffin we’ll be under the attack of the deceiver

He tries to break your spirit and crush your soul unto death

To “Curse God and die” the way that even Job’s wife had said!

Lean not into your own understanding but cling unto the faith

Put not trust in man’s explanations for their ways are not His ways

The miserable comforters were self- righteous like the Pharisees

All accusation and self- promotion with love the least of these

They sat silent for seven days yet their thoughts were not still

Each selfish, elaborate style of soliloquy compare to our will

Jesus prayed under false accusation and for Lazarus he wept

He looked down nor cast stones upon no one with utter contempt

They judged and bruised Job; they kicked him while smitten

Judging others and self- exhortation are irrevocably forbidden

Don’t be mistaken, God did confront Job’s supposed friends

For they blasphemed God’s mercy only to elevate themselves

Their premise was false which they continued to nourish

“That only the wicked suffer while the upstanding flourish”

Bildad was a brutal intellect who was hard-nosed and cold

As God stood there and listened, Job came forth as gold

Eliphaz the elegant began with a courteous but lofty tone

But he turned sharp and cutting trying to prove Job wrong

Zophar was zealous and contradicted the wisdom of the Lord

He showed the least compassion and was spiteful in his scorn

Merely the appearance of orthodoxy in outward behavior

But inside they were rigid and hateful unlike our Creator

At the brink of human endurance without shoulder for Job’s rest

We’re taught here to pray for him but they slayed him instead

Enter Elihu the youngest, speaking from God’s inspiration not age

His voice was genuine and comforting unlike the former rage

His message differed distinctly in many important themes

The spirit of youth debunked age old experience and theology

God used Elihu as a messenger just as Satan utilizes his minions

For it IS written in the bible and not simply a matter of opinion

Elihu spoke for 5 chapters and was a major discourse of the story

In his speech he didn’t elevate himself but raised God in the glory

God didn’t rebuke Elihu the way that He did Job’s miserable friends

They were told to repent in ashes and ask Job to pray for them

Another lesson learned is the certain power of intercessory prayer

And not to speak for the Almighty, as if our logic could compare

The fact God didn’t condemn Elihu’s message is a tactic endorsement

‘My God is He’ was his name and he was spirit-led without being forceful

Elihu goes on to say they were wrong and had judged falsely of their brethren

Not only did they not comfort poor Job; they spoke wrong of God in heaven!

They knew not the facts yet charged God so outwardly and blatant

And yet God stood by watching in control while being so patient

These miserable friends had no fear, the beginning of all wisdom

“Judge not lest you be judged” entering into His Holy Kingdom

If faith were held onto only through gifts and abundance

It was weak faith at best that would have never sustained us

It’s through hardships and trials which faith is put to the test

This is divine perspective and in the knowing we are blessed

Like Job, if you’ve ever asked why God does not answer your prayer

Because it’s full of self presumption; making no room for Him there

Did Job at first defend himself to his friends instead of God’s word?

Through all the confusion God knew Job could not yet of heard

The silence of God ends when our own silence has commenced

Putting our trust in Him is the soul’s first and finest recompense

Deception we learn, comes in many forms from within and without

God teaches us discernment redundantly and in this too we doubt

Even pious Job got angry and demanded God answer his question

God remained silent to bring Job out of self and into redemption

Through God’s admittance, Job was a holy man and devout

However there are a few things Job didn’t take into account

Job wanted a trial before God to confront Him and prove he was right

He misjudged God’s reasons and was stuck in his “good works” and pride

Ah! The gospels first memoir; we’re saved not by works but by grace

And when God’s rebuttal came forward, Job fell flat onto his face

Job withstood the forces so all of his portions were doubled

He at first turned inward but did look upward when troubled

Unlike his friends who omitted God’s mercy and defamed Him

God accepted Job’s prayer for the ones who had framed Him

What a beautiful sight; Job praying for his friends instead of getting even

One of the ultimate lessons in life; it’s through forgiving that we are forgiven

For both the wise and the ignorant, we are told to get down on our knees

Because sometime in our lives, we ourselves will have been each of these

From the day He made the skies and sunset, God has been in control

As we near the time of Jacob’s trouble this truth is light unto our soul

Then there are the scoffers who think Job losing his children was unfair

There are endless reunions in heaven and Job knew he’d see them there

This is also a story of Job and God, two friends getting better acquainted

Will you pick up your cross to prove to Satan’s philosophy is tainted?

He’s not a “mean” old testament God and a forgiving God in the new

He’s unchanging, patient, kind and loving from day one on through

Suffering spiritual warfare is therefore sharing the cross with Christ

For there was no one more innocent than He in all of this life

Man’s limited theology so under envisioned in full scope of creation

Blessed are they who believe and cling to this hope for the duration

God asked Job if he himself could contain the beasts of the air and sea

We’ve heard of these two creatures before in Revelation thirteen!!!

Those two creatures he spoke of; the infamous Behemoth and Leviathan

Will be unleashed upon the evil that reigns but sparing the Christian

Leviathan means “the folded one”; here He speaks of the dragon to come

Behemoth means “beasts” in plural suggesting them all joined into one!

“Can you pull them in with a fishhook or tie their tongue down with a rope”?

Job could not answer but through him, we who know the bible surely know!

God also talked to Job about “storehouses” of snow and hail reserved for war

So you see from day one the God of LOVE told us what the future had in store

He said in “times of trouble” also known and referred to as the great tribulation

Every prophecy ever stated has come true; there’s so little time for speculation!

Hold steadfast to God’s laws so the enemy camp does not prosper

Satan cares not for your crowns; it’s your very lives that he’s after!

Success is getting up eight times when you’ve been pushed down seven

Those who believe and see through the snare will be rewarded in heaven

Another invalid misconception that needs to quickly and forever be dispelled

In not believing in Him we ultimately chose where in eternity we will dwell

God’s a respecter of our choices; unlike Job we have wisdom of written word

He’s been patient for thousands of years but he IS returning with a sword

We dare demand that God answer us as we curse his name and protest?

He knows if he unveiled the unseen it would render us in cardiac arrest

This is why angels say “Do not be afraid” when used to send a message

If we talk to God we’re spiritual but if he answers we’re schizophrenic?
