The EU's problem with Creation

by Michael G. Mickey

(12-19-07)

I should've gotten around to this more quickly than I did given the sinister nature of the story but did you know that the European Union, the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy, is concerned that creationism could become a "threat to human rights?"

LifeSite reported in early November that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (CoE) has adopted a resolution to ban creationism from receiving any discussion in schools outside of religion classes. The resolution reads, in part:

"The Parliamentary Assembly is worried about the possible ill-effects of the spread of creationist ideas within our education systems and about the consequences for our democracies."

"If we are not careful, creationism could become a threat to human rights which are a key concern of the Council of Europe."

The Lifesite article states that the Council of Europe is calling on all nations of Europe "to firmly oppose the teaching of creationism as a scientific discipline on an equal footing with the theory of evolution and in general resist presentation of creationist ideas in any discipline other than religion."

Interestingly enough, there are plenty of scientists who are upset with the Council of Europe's attack on creationism, many of them having been subjected to brutal criticisms and rejection by their peers who believe solely in evolution.

Lifesite quotes David Berlinski, a mathematician and senior fellow at the Discovery Institute (a think tank which is open to scientific inquiry into Intelligent Design), as saying, "if this is what a threat to human rights amounts to, count me among its supporters; I'm threatening away with the best of them."

Not only is Berlinski "threatening human rights" by keeping an open mind to Almighty God's existence, a number of outstandingly-credentialed scientists associated with the Discovery Institute have signed "A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism."

In Bible prophecy we are told that the final empire that will rule the world prior to Christ's visible, physical, bodily return to earth will be a revived Roman empire which will eventually bow its knee to a man who is prophesied to come to prominence in the last days - the Antichrist.

The Antichrist, we're told in 2nd Thessalonians 2:4, will oppose and exalt himself above all that is called God or worshipped. As I look at what the Council of Europe stands in favor of suppressing - the mere suggestion that we may be the creations of a loving God as opposed to evolved cellular goo - I realize that the Beast which the Antichrist is eventually going to take the helm of may be right in front of our eyes.

May the Father have mercy on those He is willing to and send Jesus to gather His Bride as soon as possible that we not be subjected to seeing our Creator continue to be mocked in this fashion and on such a grand scale!

How much longer, Lord?
