The Skies Above Stephenville

by Michael G. Mickey

(1-15-08)

Something is being witnessed in the skies above Stephenville, Texas. The question is: What is it?

Fox News is reporting that "several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast." Some, the article states, have reported seeing fighter jets chasing it."

Either the good people of Stephenville are all smoking out of the same pipe, if you know what I mean, there is something of substance going on there that is unexplainable or all these people are, at the same time no less, seeing a number of optical illusions created by something like swamp gas or, perhaps, two commercial airliners, the latter being suggested by Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth.

Lewis is quoted in the article as saying he is "90 percent sure this was an airliner. With the sun's angle, it can play tricks on you."

I can't begin to tell you how many times that I and large numbers of people who were looking up into the sky on a given day from any variety of angles and distances saw a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast that we all believed was something not of this world! Mass hallucinations, illusions like that happen all the time after all, right? RIGHT? I'm being intentionally sarcastic of course.

While I don't know what the people in Stephenville Texas have been seeing, when a man sees the same object several times until finally he grabs his hunting rifle to use its scope and get a better look, I think about how sure this man must be that he is seeing something out of the ordinary to do something that extreme, especially when he walks away from the experience describing a very large aircraft "without seams, nuts or bolts." The latter part of the description provided by the man is interesting to me because the gentleman, Ricky Sorrells according to the article, is a machinist. What would one expect a machinist to look for while looking at an unidentified flying object? I would thoroughly expect him to be looking at the detail of its structure. Additionally, I would give Mr. Sorrell's story a decent amount of weight as he had to have a pretty good view of whatever he was looking at through his rifle scope to have been able to assess whether it had any nuts, bolts or seams. Right?

And then there's Steve Allen's account to consider. He is reportedly a freight company owner and a pilot no less! He said the object he saw was a mile long and half a mile wide! Anyone seen a commercial airliner (or four for that matter) a mile in length and half a mile wide? I know I haven't.

Something that Allen said in relation to what he saw and what is apparently the consensus view of those in the area who have seen whatever it is that's being seen over Stephenville Texas really grabbed my attention and I believe it will the attention of many of my readers as well. He said, "People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times. It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

When God-fearing people see things so remarkably bizarre in the skies that they think it's the last days, I have to wonder what they're seeing. While I have no idea what it is or even if there's more than one of them, the Fox News article says that people from surrounding towns have been seeing these things as well.

An end times connection?

In Bible prophecy we're told that the last days will be as the days of Noah were. When we examine Noah's time carefully, we find that something very strange was going on.

Genesis 6:2: That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Genesis 6:4: There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Who, exactly, are the sons of God referred to in these passages? Some say this is but a reference to a godly line of men that married an ungodly line of women but it's interesting what happened when these unequally yoked human bloodlines had offspring. Their children became giants according to the Bible, which seems a bit out of place unless one at least weighs a second possibility - that fallen angels, sons of God, took women unto themselves and somehow produced offspring with them.

Unrealistic? Not when we consider a number of other factors, one of which we find in the book of Job.

Job 1:6-7: Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

In both the Genesis and Job accounts, the latter of which clearly is a reference to fallen angels aligned with Satan, the original Hebrew text is the same in each instance: ben 'elohiym.

We all know that in Noah's time he found grace in the eyes of God. And why was that? We're given three specific reasons, one of which I want you to pay very close attention to:

  1. Noah was a just man.
  2. Noah walked with God.
  3. Noah was perfect in his generations.

The Noahic bloodline was a key factor in Noah finding grace with God. In the veins of Noah and his sons flowed an uncorrupted bloodline from Adam that would be preserved through the Great Flood because of God's mercy shown him and his offspring! For the second Adam to be born, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, preservation of this bloodline was key! Perhaps, if my theory and the theory of others concerning this topic is correct, Satan and his minions were trying to corrupt the bloodline that would lead to the birth of Christ - a bold attempt on his part that was, of course, dealt with and defeated handily by the Father.

Could there be more evidence in Scripture to cause us to look at UFO phenomena more closely as an end times sign? Yes. Corroborating the theory that some of the fallen may have pushed God's hand a bit further than they should've, we read the following in Jude 1:6-7:

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Note in the Jude account that there are some angels presently being held in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Not only that, these angels, much as many who resided in Sodom and Gomorrah did, were guilty of going after strange flesh. Not only did these angels go after strange flesh, it appears they left their own habitation to do so!

If God would utterly destroy the people of Sodom and Gomorrah for rampant sexual immorality and corruption among themselves, how much greater would He view the crime of the angelic order seeking the strange flesh of the descendants of Adam and Eve, particularly if it was a near-direct attack on His very throne? Something for us to think about where UFO phenomena is concerned which I thoroughly believe to be demonic in origin even if I'm completely incorrect concerning my strong suspicions shared to this point.

One final thought on UFO phenomena: What is the one thing that is almost always reported to have occurred in instances of alien abduction phenomena? Those who claim to have been abducted by extraterrestrials almost always state that their abductors are conducting experimentation on human reproduction! Looking back at the days of Noah, one

Ephesians 2:2 describes Satan as the prince of the power of the air so, in light of all the above as well as this descriptor of Lucifer, I never look at a news story like this without pausing to think how much more of this type of activity we're going to see this side of the Rapture of the Church. To be sure I believe that the further the Church allows itself to be suppressed in its role of being the light of the world, the more darkness, deception and demonic manifestation is going to become visible in a world that has forgotten its God.

Keep looking up, not for UFOs but for Christ our Lord! He is coming soon!

Maranatha!
