The woman in the video below? She's the moderator of tomorrow night's vice presidential debate, Gwen Ifill.
She is also the author of a soon-to-be-released book entitled: “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.”
She doesn't look very happy, does she? She probably won't tomorrow night either where Sarah Palin is concerned.
Michelle Malkin of HotAir.com brought the latest to light and suggests her readers do the following concerning Ifill's clear conflict of interest:
Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: 202-872-1020.
And here’s the e-mail address of Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org
Ditto! If you're not outraged at this point, you ought to be. This over-the-top liberal media bias in favor of Barack Obama has got to be stopped!
What we're witnessing, Christians? This type of deliberate truth-bending, sleight of hand journalism is nothing short of a preview of how the most evil man in the world, the prophesied Antichrist to come, is going to be lifted up as the greatest man the world has ever seen when he confirms a seven-year covenant of peace in the troubled Middle East. (Daniel 9:27) Who knows? The deception in favor of him may begin well before that momentous event even takes place.
I feel like RaptureAlert.com has become NewsBusters lately but if there is anything Christ made plain to us about the last days it's this: We need to be cautious in monitoring the world around us as it is going to be rife with deception! I know I'm not telling my regular readers anything they don't already know but we're there.
Take heed that ye be not deceived!
UPDATE: The liberal media is now rallying around Ifill in an attempt to downplay any hint that she might not be a fair moderator. Now who, pray tell, would have envisioned THAT?
Greta Van Susteren of Fox News has said of this - and correctly, "I am stunned….the campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair -- in law, this would create a mistrial."
The author of the Politico article linked above, Michael Calderone, writes the following, in part, in an attempt to downplay the Ifill issue, "...one didn't have to go the lengths of oppo research to find out about a book that was hiding in plain sight on Amazon and the Random house website."
Van Susteren is correct in her assessment and, with all due respect to Calderone, if professionalism and a lack of bias is the standard by which a journalist is to be judged, Ifill should have recused herself from the role as she clearly has a conflict of interest regardless of how the issue is spun by anyone! Besides, to say Ifill isn't in the tank is just plain stupid. That's right. It is stupid!
Take a look at the description of her upcoming pro-Obama book as it appears on Amazon.com (emphasis added mine):
In THE BREAKTHROUGH, veteran journalist Gwen Ifill surveys the American political landscape, shedding new light on the impact of Barack Obama’s stunning presidential campaign and introducing the emerging young African American politicians forging a bold new path to political power.
Any questions left? I didn't think so.
